Golden Horseshoe Chapter - Director Bio

Steve Warner, B.A.

Steve was first elected in 1989. He became involved with the CCI after attending a CCI course and making some suggestions on how to improve the course. The CCI was still in it's infancy then. He was soon snapped up by Penman Smith, who asked him to be a Director and assist him in managing the Chapter's records.

Steve and his wife purchased a condominium in 1987. He was elected to the board at the turnover meeting for Halton Condominium Corporation No. 156. He was President of his Board for 8 years. During that time his corporation suffered through negotiations with the O.N.H.W.P. and the developer to correct a number of common element deficiencies. As H.C.C. 156 is one corporation out of 4 others comprising "The Brownstones", Steve sat as Chairman of the joint Boards known as the Super Board. He resigned from his condominium board duty after purchasing a single detached house in 1995, but still stayed on as a director of the CCI.

Steve in his professional life is an IT Professional for Royal Bank of Canada. With his experience in the computer industry, Steve maintains the records of the Chapter and administers the Chapter's Web pages. A worthy note is that the Golden Horseshoe Chapter was the first chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute to be on the web. Steve has been Secretary of the Chapter for a number of years. He also assists with the development of course materials, event administration, contributes to the Condo News and assists other directors with computer related matters.

Steve was recipient of the Distinguished Service Award CCI (Hon's) in 2001.
