Ron Danks

Ron currently serves on the Board for the Chapter and is Chairman of CCI National. He was elected to the Golden Horseshoe Chapter's Board first in 1986 and has been the pivotal board member ever since.

Ron is a partner in the firm of Simpson Wigle and practices condominium and real estate law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ron's practice in the area of real estate involves assisting clients in the sale, purchase, mortgaging and leasing of both residential and commercial properties as well as land acquisition and development.

The majority of Ron's practice is focused on condominium and co-operative housing law and he is counsel to over three hundred fifty condominium corporations and housing co-ops throughout Southern Ontario. He lectures for the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Hamilton Law Association, the Canadian Condominium Institute and the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario and many others. Ron has also published numerous articles on this area of law for national and local condominium and legal publications. Ron is also skilled in alternative methods of resolving disputes such as neutral expert opinions, mediation and arbitration. He is a member of SW Dispute Resolutions.

Ron obtained his B.A. (Hons.) from the Trent University in 1980, his LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 1983, and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1985. He received the A.C.C.I. accreditation from the Condominium Condominium Institute in 1997.

Ron is a member of the Joint CCI/ACMO Legislative Committee and was heavily involved in the review and development of the Condominium Act 1998 and its regulations.
