Michael H. Clifton

Michael Clifton was elected to the board in September 2006. He is a partner at Clifton Kok LLP, located in Ayr and has been involved in condominium administration law practice since 2002. During this time Michael has served more than 200 condominiums throughout the Golden Horseshoe area, Toronto and Oxford County, and has also represented or assisted several condominium developers with respect to the creation of standard, phased, common element and vacant land condominiums.

Michael is co-author of two CCI-Golden Horseshoe Chapter publications, A Planners' and Municipalities' Guide to the Condominium Act, 1998 and Essential Issues for Realtors in the Condominium Act, 1998. In addition, Michael has published articles in the Condo News, has participated in CCI forums/courses and contributed to other periodicals serving the condominium community.

Michael is married and has two children. He holds bachelor and master degrees in philosophy from the University of Waterloo and obtained his law degree from the University of Toronto in 1998. In addition to practicing law, Michael is an active lay minister, artist and writer. Since 1987, Michael has published over 250 articles and some illustrations in various periodicals on a wide variety of subjects including law, art, music, history, religion, philosophy and culture, has been a speaker in academic conferences and classes in Boston, Toronto, London and the Kitchener-Waterloo area. He has previously served on the boards of Leading Tone Arts Productions and the Grand [formerly Kitchener Waterloo] Philharmonic Choir.
